The 51st Annual Durham CROP Hunger Walk – March 23, 2025
The 51st annual Durham CROP Hunger Walk is scheduled for March 23, 2025. The walk will begin and end at Duke University Chapel, on Duke’s West Campus. For the health-vulnerable avoiding crowds, walk a personal route around your neighborhood, or favorite trail or track, and share photos of your walk with us via social media!
Keys to Success
- Register yourself and your team on the Church World Service (CWS) website
- Identify a team captain to recruit walkers for your organization and send their name and contact information to cropwalkdurham@gmail.com
- Recruit a SOCIAL MEDIA CAPTAIN to follow Facebook (@durhamcrophungerwalk), Instagram (durhamcropwalk) and Twitter (@CROPWalkDurham), and to make a team post each week on any platform with #durhamcrophungerwalk! Share our online posts about the work Church World Service does around the world, and fourteen different local relief programs receiving CROP Walk funds in Durham! In this time of COVID-19, world and local hunger has increased dramatically so now the need is greater than ever!

CROP Walk Route: Step off in front of Duke Chapel to the circle. Left on Campus Drive to East Campus. Through East Campus past Lily Library to Markham Ave. Cross Markham and head north on Onslow St. Left at Knox St. to Sedgefield St. Left on Sedgefield return to Markham and retrace the route back to Duke Chapel.
Parking
This year there will be parking for CROP Walkers available in the the Duke University Rd Lots (across from the Karsh Alumni and Visitors Center) and the Allen Lots (behind the Allen Building). Overflow parking will be available in the Campus Drive Lot at the intersection of Anderson and Campus Drive.
T-Shirts
2025 Durham CROP Hunger Walk T-shirts will be available at the walk on March 23 in front of Duke Chapel.
T- Shirts will also be available for pickup at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church trailer (1200 W. Cornwallis Rd, in back parking lot) prior to the walk. Dates and Times to be announced soon!
A donation of $5 per shirt is suggested.
Sizes: Youth M and L, and Adult S M L XL XXL and XXXL
If you are collecting multiple shirts, please send your shopping list of numbers and sizes to CROPWalkDurham@gmail.com, and we will try to have them ready for pick-up when you arrive.
